Objectives and Key Results
Americas & Europe
Course 2 of 6
This fall, build the product management skills the AI era and your next job demand
The Objectives and Key Results course teaches you to write OKRs grounded in real customer behavior change, not output, using the framework from the best-selling book by Jeff Gothelf and Josh Seiden. This is the second course in a six-part sequence:
- Lean Product Strategy
- Objectives and Key Results
- Lean Product Management
- Lean Product Discovery
- Storytelling Superpowers for Persuasive Conversations
- Building AI Products with Lean Product Management
This course delivers real, usable skills and value entirely on its own, but the full sequence is where the real transformation happens. Each course builds on the last, so we recommend completing all six for the most comprehensive set of AI-era product skills. Whichever path you choose, complete the course and pass a short assessment to unlock a certification you can showcase on LinkedIn and beyond.
These classes have been created by Jeff Gothelf and Josh Seiden, award-winning authors and recognized design and product thought leaders, who wrote the books Lean UX, Outcomes Over Output, and Who Does What By How Much?, the OKR playbook.

Additional Information
What problem does this course address?
OKRs are one of the most widely used goal-setting tools in the world, and one of the most widely misapplied. Most teams use OKRs to track output, so they don't drive the behavior change they're meant to. Teams in functions like HR, finance, and legal often don't know how to apply OKR thinking to their work at all. This course teaches teams to use OKRs to measure real change in the behavior of the people they serve, so goals stop being a reporting exercise and start being a real management tool.
Why this course, and why now?
In AI Transformation, where strategy can shift every few months, annual planning falls apart, and OKRs built around customer behavior change are the most resilient way to set goals. This course teaches everyone in the organization, not just product and engineering, to write goals grounded in customer behavior change. Once your team has a strategy from Lean Product Strategy, this is where you learn to measure whether it's actually working.
Who is this training for?
- Any employee, in any organization: OKR thinking applies well beyond product and engineering
- Leadership teams rolling out OKRs company-wide
- Organizations where OKRs have been adopted but aren't working as intended
- Teams who need a way to know if their strategy is working, not just what they shipped
What will happen in class?

Through lectures, discussions, and hands-on exercises, you'll define who your customer is, write OKR statements grounded in customer behavior change, and leave with the start of a continuous OKR practice. Each session builds on the last, creating accountability and meaningful peer connections through shared learning experiences.

✅ Understand the difference between outputs and Outcomes and why it matters for goal-setting
✅ Write OKR statements grounded in customer behavior change
✅ Build a continuous OKR practice that stays relevant as strategy changes
✅ Align the whole organization around goals everyone can understand and act on
