Two-Factor Authentication

Two-Factor authentication adds an additional layer of security by requiring more than just an email address and password to log in.

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

Before you begin the process of enabling Two-Factor Authentication, you should download an authentication app on your smartphone that will allow you to generate the authentication codes you’ll need to log into Tito.

Some popular apps that do this are:

1Password - iOS and Android
Google Authenticator - iOS and Android
Authy - iOS and Android

Once you have downloaded an authenticator app, log into Tito. After logging into Tito click on the Edit Profile link from the dropdown menu in the top right of the display.

Then click the Two-Factor Authentication button.

Then click the Enable button.

Open the authenticator app and scan the QR code that appears. The authenticator app will
generate 6 digit code. Type this code into the provided field and click Enable.

You have now enabled Two-Factor Authentication and will be asked for an authentication code each time you login.

Please note that by default Tito does not generate recovery codes when you enable Two-Factor Authentication. If you lose access to your authenticator app then you will lose access to your account. Tito highly recommends Creating Recovery Codes

Login using Two-Factor Authentication

Once you have enabled Two-Factor Authentication you will be asked for an authentication code each time you log into Tito. After providing your email and password, enter your authentication code or recovery code in the Two-Factor Authentication login page to access Tito and click Verify code.

Disabling Two-Factor Authentication

If you no longer wish to have Two-Factor Authentication enabled log into Tito.
After logging into Tito click on the Edit Profile link from the dropdown menu in the top right of the display.

Then click the Two-Factor Authentication button.

Then click Disable.

Once disabled you will now be able to log into Tito with only your email address and password.

Creating Recovery Codes

Recovery codes can be used to access Tito in the event you lose access to your authenticator app and cannot access Two-Factor Authentication codes.

To create recovery codes navigate to the Two-Factor Authentication section and click Create recovery codes.

You will be shown 5 recovery codes only once so please copy them to a secure location. We recommend copying them to a password manager.

Once you have copied the recovery codes click I have copied the recovery codes.

To use a recovery code please enter it when logging in. Each recovery code can only be used once. If you need to generate a fresh set of recovery codes, just select Regenerate recovery codes in the Two-Factor Authentication area of Tito. Please be aware that when you do this, all your previous recovery codes - including those you’ve not yet used - will become invalid, so remember to copy these to secure location such as a password manager.

Locked out of my account

If you have lost access to your authenticator app and cannot access Two-Factor Authentication codes, your recovery codes provide another way to log into Tito.

If you don’t have access to your authentication app and recovery codes, you’ll need to contact our support team, who will take you through an identity verification procedure before allowing you back into your account.
