Geoscience2020 - Geoscience for Policy
Geological Survey Ireland’s annual conference, Geoscience2020 – Geoscience for Policy, will be held online on two mornings 18-19 November 2020 due to Covid-19.
The conference will showcase key areas of Geological Survey Ireland’s work programme which are providing decision-making evidence for policy-makers and planners nationally. Delegates will have the opportunity to view and participate in four interactive sessions covering the themes of:
-Geothermal Energy;
-Subsurface Challenges and Opportunities, including urban soil and radon;
-Marine and Coastal Issues, including erosion and offshore renewable energy; and
-Natural Resources including water and raw materials.
Speakers from Geological Survey Ireland, government policy divisions and international organisations will illustrate the importance of geoscientific evidence in policy and planning.
