  \n\n Geological Survey Ireland’s annual conference\, Geoscience2020 –
  Geoscience for Policy\, will be held online on two mornings 18-19 Novembe
 r 2020 due to Covid-19. \n\n The conference will showcase key areas of Geo
 logical Survey Ireland’s work programme which are providing decision-mak
 ing evidence for policy-makers and planners nationally. Delegates will hav
 e the opportunity to view and participate in four interactive sessions cov
 ering the themes of: \n\n -Geothermal Energy\; \n\n -Subsurface Challenges
  and Opportunities\, including urban soil and radon\; \n\n -Marine and Coa
 stal Issues\, including erosion and offshore renewable energy\; and \n\n -
 Natural Resources including water and raw materials. \n\n Speakers from Ge
 ological Survey Ireland\, government policy divisions and international or
 ganisations will illustrate the importance of geoscientific evidence in po
 licy and planning. \n
