Welcome to the registration page for the Australian Embassy Ireland's "Great Australian Photo Scavenger Hunt in Ireland"

To celebrate the amazing relationship between Australia and Ireland the Australian Embassy in Ireland is running a special scavenger hunt competition across Ireland this October.

73 scavenger hunt tasks have been devised (one to mark each year of the Australian – Irish diplomatic relationship) to highlight the many links between our two great countries, as well as some interesting Aussie trivia. Competition participants have the chance to earn points and win a wide range fantastic Australian prizes.

How to Play

To play simply register on this web page just below this description. We will send an email to you after a few days with all the rules and your unique competition token.

The list of tasks will be emailed to all participants on Monday 15 October 2018.

Once you have your unique token, wait for the competition to commence on 18 October 2018 06:00. Then grab your token, take your photo (or get a friend to take the photo for you with the competition token with your unique number). Post that photo on our Facebook event page tagging the Australian Embassy Ireland (@AusEmbIRE) or post it on Instagram tagging us (@AusEmbIRE).

To win you simply need to collect the most points from completing as many of the 73 tasks available, with each photo clearly featuring your unique Kangaroo competition token.

The Embassy will track submissions and the person to score the maximum amount of points during in the competition period wins. We also have bonus spot prizes for entrants so make sure to keep an eye on our special tasks!

Prizes

The Embassy has organised a HUGE range of exciting Australian-themed prizes for the competition winners, which includes some of the most iconic Australian brands and products from Qantas, Harvey Norman, TimTams, Watch AFL & Watch NRL, Bundaberg and many more.

We are also celebrating the holding of a unique event in Australia, the Magners Sydney Irish Festival which will be held at the Sydney Showgrounds 10-11 November 2018. Not only will the festival feature some amazing Irish musical talent (Damien Dempsey, Mary Black, Lunasa and Saint Sister) it will also host the first ever GAA sanctioned full size hurling match outside Ireland, with 2017 All-Ireland winners Galway taking on reigning 2018 Allianz League Champions Kilkenny.

This competition gives you the chance to win double passes for friends and family in Australia to attend Magners Sydney Irish Festival, including the hurling match on the final day.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING THE COMPETITION. The Great Australian Photo Scavenger Hunt in Ireland

  1. The Great Australian Photo Scavenger Hunt in Ireland (the Competition) is a competition run by the Commonwealth of Australia through the Australian Embassy in Ireland (the Embassy).
    Competition Period
  2. The Competition will run from 18 October 2018, 6.00am (GMT), to 31 October 2018, 11.59pm GMT (Competition Period).
    Eligibility
  3. Entry into the Competition is free and is open to:
    a. Residents of Ireland but friends and family outside Ireland may assist entrants in the competition if the tasks allow it.
  4. Employees of the Embassy, its contractors and/or their immediate family members are ineligible to enter the Competition. Immediate family member means a spouse, defacto partner, child, grandchild, parent, grandparent and/or sibling (and their spouses).
  5. The Embassy reserves the right to verify the eligibility of each Entrant and to exclude and/or disqualify any Entrant who does not meet the eligibility requirements. By entering the Competition, the Entrant warrants that he or she is eligible. Entering the Competition.
  6. To enter the Competition each Entrant must, during the Competition Period:
    a. Register their details on the competition website https://ti.to/australian-embassy-dublin/great-australian-photo-scavenger-hunt-in-ireland.
  7. Each Entrant is only permitted to enter the Competition once.
    Content Criteria
  8. For an entry to be considered valid and eligible for judging it must meet the following content criteria:
    a. The photo must include the Competition Kangaroo Token
    b. The photo must tag the Australian Embassy, Ireland @AusEmbIRE on either Facebook or Instagram (Facebook Event Page is preferred)
    c. Meet the conditions of the task as outlined in the Competition Task List.
    *Judging Criteria *
  9. For the main prize the winner will be the first person to 1000 points during the competition period or if no one reaches 1000 points the winner will be the person with the most amount of points by the end of the competition period. a. Entries eligible for special prizes will be judged by Embassy staff] on the following criteria (photos do not have to meet all to be considered): i. Creativity ii. Originality iii. Popularity of photo on social media iv. Photo which best highlights the links between Australia and Ireland.
  10. Entries which the Embassy determines have involved fraudulent practices, such as false email addresses or fake Facebook/Instagram accounts to allow multiple entries by the same person, or any other illegitimate behaviour to gain advantage over other entrants, will be disqualified from the Competition.

  12. The Prize is given "as is" without any warranty, and is not transferable or exchangeable for cash. The Embassy reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another prize of similar value if the original prize is not available.
  13. Unless otherwise specified in these terms and conditions, the Embassy will not be responsible for any costs associated with the award, acceptance, receipt or use of the Prize, including any cost of travelling to redeem the Prize. Notification and collection of Prize.
  14. The Embassy will announce the winner of the Competition by tagging them on a post on Facebook/Instagram or website after the end of the Competition Period.
  15. The Embassy] will also notify the winner by email / private message on [Facebook/Instagram within two business days of announcing the result. At this time, the Embassy will seek the winner’s details (name and age) (Personal Details) and contact details, to organise collection of the Prize. The winner must provide the Personal Details and contact details within three business days of the request by the Embassy.
  16. Dependent on location of the winner in Ireland, the main prize will need to be collected from the Embassy on St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2. Other prizes may be collected from the Embassy or posted out to winners. Double Pass tickets will be emailed to winners.
  17. If the winner fails to provide the Embassy with his or her Personal Details and contact details within the required timeframe, or fails to collect the Prize in accordance with paragraph [16], the winner will forfeit the Prize and the Embassy reserves the right to select another winner, in accordance with these terms and conditions.
    Intellectual property
  18. The Entrant warrants that his or her entry has not been copied, recreated, reproduced or derived from any other work and that the entry does not infringe on any other legal, intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party. The Entrant indemnifies and holds harmless the the Embassy from any and all claims by any third party arising out of the use of the Entrant’s entry, including but not limited to claims of infringement or violation of the intellectual property or privacy rights of the third party.
  19. The Entrant grants the Embassy a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable, non-transferable, perpetual licence to use, modify, copy, delete from, add to, publicly display and/or reproduce, the Entrant’s entry, in whole or in part, in any medium, now or at any time in the future for any purpose.
  20. The Entrant grants the Embassy the right to use his or her Personal details, likeness, comments and/or entry for promotional purposes without payment of additional consideration, except where prohibited by law. This includes but is not limited to announcing the result of the Competition and publishing the name of the winner on the Embassy’s Facebook/Instagram page or website.
    Privacy
  21. Personal information associated with the entry and/or winning of the Competition (including, but not limited to, the Entrant’s name [and relevant social media alias]) will be collected, used and disclosed (including to Facebook/Instagram) by the Embassy for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in connection with the Competition. This personal information will be stored by the Embassy on a secure electronic database and will be destroyed once it is no longer required for these purposes. If this information is not collected, the Embassy will be unable to enter the Entrant into the Competition. For further information regarding how the Embassy will handle this information, please consult our Privacy Policy at: http://dfat.gov.au/about-us/about-this-website/pages/privacy.aspx .
  22. Personal information associated with the entry and/or winning of the Competition (including, but not limited to, the Entrant’s name [and relevant social media alias]) will be collected, used and disclosed (including to Facebook/Instagram) by the Embassy for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in connection with the Competition. If this information is not collected, the Embassy will be unable to enter the Entrant into the Competition. This personal information will be stored by the Embassy on a secure electronic database and will be destroyed once it is no longer required for these purposes. The Embassy ensures that personal information will be processed in accordance with the principles of data protection, as described in the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Data Protection Acts 1988-2018. By entering this competition, you hereby confirm you understand the purposes for which the Embassy will process your personal information and upon registering to enter the competition you will be required to expressly consented to the Embassy storing, processing, using, transferring or disclosing such personal information relating to you as set out above and in accordance with the Data Protection Acts 1988-2018. Indemnities
  23. The Entrant acknowledges that while the Embassy will disclose this information to Facebook/Instagram for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in connection with the Competition, the Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook/Instagram The Entrant should refer to Facebook’s/Instagram’s own privacy policy for further information as to how Facebook/Instagram will handle the Entrant’s personal information.
  24. The Embassy is not responsible for content that third parties publish, post, upload, distribute, disseminate or otherwise transmit via social media services. The Embassy accepts no liability whatsoever arising from or connected to the currency, accuracy or completeness of any material posted on social media sites or elsewhere on the internet and disclaims all responsibility for any loss or damage which may arise from the use of information provided via social media services. Amendments and cancellation.
  25. The Embassy reserves the right to, at its absolute discretion and without prior notice, vary, amend, delete or supplement any of these terms and conditions and the Entrant’s continued participation in the Competition amounts to acceptance of any revised terms and conditions. The Entrant should check the Embassy’s website on a regular basis for any changes to these terms and conditions. If an Entrant does not agree to a change, he or she may withdraw from the Competition by email, direct messaging.
  26. The Embassy reserves the right to, for any reason and without any obligation to state a particular reason, cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition. In the event of such cancellation, termination, modification or suspension, the Embassy may at its absolute discretion elect not to award any Prize in respect of the Competition. The decision of the Embassy to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition will not give rise to any liability to pay compensation of any nature to any Entrants.
  27. The Embassy’s decision in relation to any aspect of the Competition is final and binding on every Entrant. No correspondence will be entered into. Governing law
  28. The Competition is governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland.
