Own Your Expertise - NY Sept 23 2017

Own Your Expertise Workshop - Rise Up!

When: Saturday September 23rd, 9am-6pm -- we will accommodate all accessibility requests made before or on Fri Sept 15

Where: Casper HQ -- 230 Park Avenue South

This is an all day workshop for women and non-binary coders*, customized to empower you as a leader in tech.

We are providing breakfast and lunch for all dietary needs and ensure the location is wheelchair accessible. We also provide nursing rooms, childcare services, CART/ASL services, and any other accessibility needs, as requested. If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know at info@writespeakcode.com

Learn to own your expertise and present yourself and your accomplishments with confidence. Convert your expertise into thought leadership, conference speaking, and open source contributing. The workshop will help you think more expansively about your knowledge and experience, laying the foundation for you to become a conference speaker and open source contributor.

You'll go through an Impostor Syndrome workshop, generate a list of topics you can write or speak about, present yourself as an expert, and get an intro to writing, speaking, and coding for open source. The workshop will also have new exercises for those who have previously attended.

*We define 'coders' as anyone who has written a line of code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Java, SQL whatever) and can explain what it does. Designers, E-book publishers, Salesforce Admins and beginners as well as engineers with 20 years experience have enjoyed our workshops and been inspired by each other.
