Alces Flight - OpenFlightHPC Bootcamp

You are invited to the OpenFlightHPC Bootcamp taking place at the University of Leeds on Friday, April 24th from 10 AM to 4 PM in the Liberty Building Seminar Room G18.

This is a ground floor room with level access.

OpenFlightHPC is an open-source High Performance Computing software environment designed to work agnostically across any hardware or cloud platform. The aim of the OpenFlightHPC project is to make HPC available to those wishing to engage with the field and as such this bootcamp is open to all skill levels.

This bootcamp is designed to familiarise you with OpenFlightHPC methodology, get you familiar with the HPC environment design, and includes exercises in popular applications frameworks such as Gridware, EasyBuild, Conda, Docker, and Singularity.  We will be working with a range of applications from different scientific disciplines including engineering, biological-sciences, media and image processing, natural and theoretical sciences. Our work in this bootcamp will be cloud-based, and will include sections on creating hybrid research computing solutions that can leverage both on-premises and third-party resources.

A complete schedule will be published soon and this bootcamp will be free for researchers and students based at UK or European institutions.

There are no prerequisites required to attend, however, attendees need to bring a laptop (with charger) on the day.

Lunch and breaks will be included at no cost with the bootcamp, though we encourage you to bring a refillable water bottle to help reduce waste.
