Universal Design Grand Challenge 2024
The Universal Design Grand Challenge (UDGC) is a competition that promotes and awards excellence in student projects that feature solutions that work for everyone. We invite third level students in their final two years of study to enter their best project which demonstrates the use of the Principles of Universal Design. We are delighted to accept entries from undergrads, postgrads, and recent graduates.
The award ceremony for UDGC 2024 is taking place on Wednesday the 23rd of October from 4:30pm-9:30pm.

About UDGC
Each year, the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design (CEUD) at the National Disability Authority (NDA) runs the UDGC Student Awards. Each year we continue to be amazed at the creativity and commitment to inclusion and Universal Design demonstrated by the students who enter, and the academic tutors/supervisors who support them.
Entries are submitted and winners are chosen in 3 categories:
- Built Environment
- Technology
- Products and Services
In addition, at the UDGC final each year, a Peoples' Choice Winner is chosen by audience members at the in-person award ceremony.
The winner of each category receives a cash prize and the coveted Universal Design Grand Challenge trophy for that category.

Universal Design Grand Challenge Awards Night 2024: In-Person Attendee
thank you for registering to join us in-person at the Aviva Stadium Dublin on Wednesday 23rd October. You will use Entrance A to enter the venue. This is located just across from Lansdowne Dart Station. There is also paid vehicle-parking adjacent to the venue.
doors open at 4:30 for our "Meet the Finalists" event, where we invite you to look at our finalists' fabulous designs, and to chat with them about their work.
The main event starts at 6:00 PM, so we ask atendees to arrive no later than 5:45 PM. We very much look forward to meeting you at the event.
