Universal Design Grand Challenge 2016 Student Awards
The Centre for Excellence in Universal Design (CEUD) at the National Disability Authority (NDA) would like to invite you to attend the Universal Design Grand Challenge 2016 Students Awards.
9 finalists from colleges around Ireland will be judged on the presentation of their designs. Finalists will compete fro the Judge's Choice Award, the Peoples' Choice Award and the The Enterprise Ireland “Universal Design Commercialisation Award”.

Bill Kearney, Vice President IBM Ireland Lab will give a keynote presentation.
This years Universal Design Grand Challenge will feature new award categories.
- Instead of one we will have 3 Judges Awards for the "Built Environment", "Products and Services" and "Information and Communication Technology". The winner of each category will receive a cash prize and the coveted Universal Design Grand Challenge 2016 perpetual trophy for that category.
- Don't worry - the People's Choice Award and Universal Design for Commercialisation Award, supported by Enterprise Ireland will remain.

About the Universal Design Grand Challenge 2016
The Universal Design Grand Challenge aims to celebrate great student work and to encourage more students to consider Universal Design in their projects. This event is free to attend, but registration is required as places are limited.

- Universal Design Grand Challenge People’s Choice Award Trophy (travelling perpetual trophy) €1,000.00 in prize money (€500 for the school plus €500 for the student(s)). The winner of the People's Choice Award is voted on during the Awards Night.
- Universal Design Grand Challenge "Judges’ Choice Award: Technology" Trophy (travelling perpetual trophy) €1,000.00 in prize money (€500 for the school plus €500 for the student(s)). The winner of the Judge's Choice Award: Technology category will be decided by an expert panel of judges during the Awards Night.
- Universal Design Grand Challenge "Judges’ Choice Award: Product and Services" Trophy (travelling perpetual trophy) €1,000.00 in prize money (€500 for the school plus €500 for the student(s)). Highly Commended entries will also be announced at the UDGC event.
- Universal Design Grand Challenge "Judges’ Choice Award: Built environment" Trophy (travelling perpetual trophy) €1,000.00 in prize money (€500 for the school plus €500 for the student(s)).
- The Enterprise Ireland “Universal Design Commercialisation Award” will provide one or more of the shortlisted entrants with a Commercial Case Feasibility Grant.
