Cervical Cancer Prevention Australia (ACPCC) - Guided tour

The Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer (ACPCC) is home to the Australian HPV Reference Laboratory, listed by WHO as an HPV Performance Evaluation Laboratory. ACPCC is recognised for its leading role in Australia’s National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP) and its contribution to global cervical cancer elimination efforts.

During this exclusive tour, delegates will: • See a wide range of commercially available HPV assays on multiple validated instruments, all of which have been fully validated for cervical cancer screening and used in Australia’s NCSP. • Explore point-of-care testing platforms that can be utilised in remote or resource-limited settings, expanding access to timely and accurate results across diverse populations.

Delegates will also discover ACPCC’s role in supporting companies with expert advice and guidance on the production of numerous quality control materials for HPV assays, as well as its active involvement in HPV test evaluations and support with laboratory strengthening in partner countries as part of the Elimination Partnership for Cervical Cancer in the Indo-Pacific (EPICC).

This visit will provide valuable insight into how these innovations are integrated into screening programs of very different scales and resource availability.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to discuss future collaboration, all with the shared goal of accelerating the elimination of cervical cancer and strengthening cancer control efforts globally.

A bus will depart from the Pan Pacific Hotel at 1:15 pm and return at the same location at 4:30 pm at the latest.
