Business + Nature: The Imperative for Action, an Associated Event of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU

Event description

Environmental security is a priority of the Irish Presidency of the EU with climate and biodiversity challenges recognised as central to strengthening economic, health and food security.

A key message of the landmark IPBES publication on Business and Biodiversity (2026) is that all businesses depend on and impact biodiversity and can be agents of positive change. As biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse is deemed a significant risk to national resilience, security and prosperity, this issue is of concern for all of society.

In this event, government and researchers engage with business and financial leaders to identify the imperatives for business action on nature and tease out some of the key challenges faced and solutions emerging.
