SGVUX.19 Transitioning into UX: Is formal training required?

Want to transition into UX but not sure how?

Is formal training/school required or a nice to have? There are multiple paths to UX Design. Learn how these 3 UX/Product Designers did it! They'll be sharing what those early days were like and what life is like now.

We'll start off with a short bio and be answering your questions live! Our panelists transitioned into UX through:

  • Patrick Datugan
  • Shilpa Tripathi Jurinek
  • Jennifer Du
  • John Khuu (Moderator)
  • Jesse Despard (Host, SGVUX)

Join us on to learn:

  • if formal training is required to transition into UX
  • what a good path might be for you when you're considering UXD
  • what to do during that *in-between* stage
  • suggested soft skills, mindsets, job hunting strategies to land that 1st official (paid) UX role

Panelists will not be recommending or comparing specific schools, programs, certifications.

Attendees: Ask your questions! There will be a live Q&A session with panelists about career-pathing! Event link and details will be sent with your ticket confirmation email.
