Pain Study Day: Persistent Pain Following Breast Cancer

Persistent pain following breast surgery occurs frequently and often has a devastating impact on those patients affected. Our understanding of the condition remains rudimentary although progress has been made in delineating its epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk factors and treatment.

This cross-specialty study day will draw together surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, physiotherapists and any other interested parties to review these topics. An International faculty of speakers will present the latest thoughts on persistent postbreast surgery pain. Areas covered include risk stratification of patients, the impact of surgical and anaesthetic techniques and treatment approaches. There will be ample opportunity throughout the day (and afterwards!) to discuss points of interest and to network with like-minded colleagues.
