London-via-Manchester 3-piece The Early Mornings most recently released their 2nd EP ’Ultra-Modern Rain’ (Practise Music) which shows, once again, their knack for crafting tight and spiky songs, bringing a metamorphic mix of hooky pop and unpredictable tangents. Minimalism gives way to big, distorted sections, striking a balance between bitter and sweet. This is also reflected by vocalist Annie Leader, with her dead-pan singing sharing space with poetic lyrics and infectious melodies.
