Scanner (Robin Rimbaud) + Loula Yorke

Scanner (British artist Robin Rimbaud) traverses the experimental terrain between sound and space connecting a bewilderingly diverse array of genres. Since 1991 he has been intensely active in sonic art, producing concerts, installations and recordings. He scored the hit musical comedy Kirikou & Karaba (2007), Philips Wake-Up Light (2009), The Big Dance in Trafalgar Square for 1000 dancers and the re-opening of the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam in 2012. Committed to working with cutting edge practitioners he has collaborated with Bryan Ferry, Wayne MacGregor, Mike Kelley, Michael Nyman, Steve McQueen, Laurie Anderson and Hussein Chalayan.

Loula Yorke is a composer, improviser and live performer working primarily with a modular synthesiser. An Oram Award Winner in 2020, she has since released two albums to critical acclaim – Volta on Truxalis Records, which was chosen as The Quietus’ Album of the Week, and Speak, thou vast and venerable head on quiet details, which reached #41 in the UK Official Download Charts.

Yorke’s latest project is a monthly mixtape that blends live performances on her modular synthesiser with field recordings and detailed audio descriptions, which has already picked up a dedicated following. Listen to Loula read the liner notes here.
