
Southampton Arts Center Weeklong Game Camp
For the second summer, Teck-e, a premier provider of STEAM after-school programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), will return with its digital program for children ages 8 to 13.
Learn about the rules and features of games by creating your own paper and digital game. Students will first work on the basics of creating a game using Scratch, a building block program, and then they will create an additional game using a new 3D template which is built on top of the industry-standard software, Unity.

Teacher: Helen Carey
Helen Carey is a researcher and new media artist currently based in New York City. She has over 10 years experience in project coordination and technical assistance for health, education, and research clients - including Grinnell College, the US Department of Labor, USAID, Weill Cornell Medical College, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and NYU’s Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders. Helen holds a Master of Science in Digital Media from NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College, where she completed two separate majors with honors - Studio Art (Sculpture/Painting) and Anthropology (Cultural/Medical). In general, her work combines methods from the fields of User Experience Design, Data Visualization, and Animation/Interactive Graphics.
