Inclusive Voices Workshop

An unconscious bias and inclusivity training on the importance of integration of diversity in the workplace.

There is plenty of imperial evidence which states that diversity is vital for business success. According to a recent McKinsey report companies in the top-quartile for gender diversity on their executive teams are 21% more likely to have higher profitability, and ethnic/cultural diversity are 33% more likely to outperform on profitability. Nevertheless, organisations can only benefit from the positive impact of diversity when all the employees feel that they are treated fairly, that their uniqueness is appreciated and they have a sense of belonging. Inclusive business culture is what drives innovation and bottom line results.

To create a well-balanced inclusive workplace culture, we have to start with our minds and our perceptions. It is important to challenge any conscious stereotypes, prejudices or unconscious biases that might prevent us from evaluating people based on their merits and talents, rather than our preconceptions.

While the tech sector is one of the most forward leading sectors in business, it remains highly homogenous. In order to create a socially sustainable future as well as a competitive market, this industry needs to have diversity and inclusion on top of their agenda.

Equality Group presents Inclusive Voices, which is a collaborative training workshop that enables the participants to learn about various biases, raise their level of self-awareness and encourages to practice a more inclusive mindset. An hour workshop will consist of a short presentation on conscious and unconscious biases, practical awareness and mindfulness exercises as well as group discussion. It will be a safe and informal session where the participants will be allowed to ask any questions, encouraged to participate and share their own experiences.
