Additional Information

About the Speaker: Mark Little began his career in journalism working for The Sunday Business Post. He was then hired in 1991 by RTÉ – his employer for almost two decades – initially as a TV reporter for their News and Current Affairs programme. Four years later, he became RTÉ's first Washington Correspondent, meeting such US politicians as Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Returning to Dublin in 2001 to become RTÉ's Foreign Affairs Correspondent, he won the TV Journalist of the Year in the ESB National Media Awards.

Mark co-presented RTÉ's flagship current affairs programme, Prime Time, for seven years, as well as presenting many RTÉ News specials. He presented the documentary programme "Who’s Afraid of Islam?" in 2006 and also reported from disaster and conflict areas such as Iraq, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. In 2008, he presented "American Dream: Dead or Alive" on RTÉ One.

In 2009, he left RTÉ to found Storeyful, the first news agency of the social media age, which he developed with other journalists. It was so successful that it was bought in 2013 by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

Mark has written three books: Turn Left at Greenland, Zulu Time and The New America, the last published in 2008. Mark read Economic & Social Studies at Trinity College Dublin and was President of the Students’ Union.
