Trinity Business Alumni is delighted to announce that Leo Crawford, Group Chief Executive of BWG Food Group, will be addressing the next TBA Dinner in Camera. The drinks reception will start at 6:30 followed by a three-course meal.
The dress-code will be business attire and NOT black-tie.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Leo Crawford is Group Chief Executive of BWG Group.
BWG Group has an annual turnover of €1.5 billion and owns the SPAR, EUROSPAR, MACE, Londis and XL franchises, operating over 1,000 stores in the Republic of Ireland. BWG’s operations extend to the UK where it owns Appleby Westward which operates the SPAR franchise in the South West of England, with over 290 stores. The company employs in excess of 1,000 staff directly and about 20,000 people in its stores, including owner-run franchise outlets. (www.bwg.ie).
In 2002 Leo led the management buyout of the BWG Group from Pernod Ricard in conjunction with Electra Partners Europe. In October 2006, Triode Investments Ltd, a company controlled by Leo, John Clohisey and John O’Donnell completed the purchase of BWG Group from Electra (Cognetas). In August 2014 BWG announced the establishment of a new ownership structure with SPAR South Africa in a joint venture with BWG management to acquire the BWG Group of companies. The new joint venture is owned 80% by SPAR South Africa and 20% by Leo Crawford, John Clohisey and John O’Donnell. SPAR South Africa is a leading publicly-quoted wholesaler and distributor with annual sales of around €6.5 billion.
In June 2010 Leo served a year long term as President of IBEC (Irish Business and Employers’ Confederation) and is now a Trustee of IBEC.
Leo is one of our own – BBS 1980 and also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA). Leo is a member of the Trinity Provost’s Council and also a non-executive director of Stafford Holdings (Lifestyle Sports).
