TCD Alumni Kildare & Wicklow Autumn Event – Fireside Chat with historian Dr Brendan Twomey

The TCD Association & Trust – Kildare & Wicklow Chapter invites alumni & friends to join them this autumn for a fireside chat with historian Dr Brendan Twomey, with refreshments beforehand. Dr Twomey will deliver a talk on Jonathan Swift - the 'brand' and the 'banker'.

DATE: Wednesday 6 November 2019

TIME: Refreshments at 7.30 pm, Talk to start at 8.15 pm.

VENUE: Kildrought House, Main St, Donaghcumper, Celbridge, Co. Kildare

About the Speaker
Historian Brendan Twomey is now retired (early!) after a career of nearly forty years in banking. His current research focuses are the financial management practices of Jonathan Swift,the history of Dblin in the early modern period and financial management and practices in 17th and 18th century Ireland. He has previously worked and published on aspects of 18th-century Dublin, Sir John Gilbert (historian of Dublin) and the Church of Ireland.

He is an alumnus of Trinity College Dublin and a member of the Irish Association of Professional Historians.
