Innovation @ Trinity - New York Showcase & Alumni Reception

The 2nd annual "Innovation @ Trinity" event in New York will take place this October in The Cornell Club. Alumni and Friends of Trinity will have the opportunity to connect and network, to meet the leaders driving some of the exciting start-ups coming out of Trinity and to discover how innovation & entrepreneurship sit at the heart of our university.

Date: Thursday 24th October 2019

Time: doors open 6.30pm for 7.00pm start, followed by networking reception

Venue: The Cornell Club, 6 East 44th Street, New York, NY 10017

Attendees will hear from some of our recent campus companies and start-ups about how they grew their companies from idea to investment with Trinity's support and backing. ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS

Helen McBreen, Atlantic Bridge
"Creating globally successful companies"
Helen joined Atlantic Bridge in 2015 as an Investment Director for their University Bridge Fund, which is focused on investing in early stage companies with global potential that are built from world class research generated at all Irish third-level institutions and universities. Having successfully sourced, formed and financed dozens of IP rich technology ventures and with a credible investment track record Helen brings over 12 years’ experience in early stage investing.

David van Zuydam, Head Diagnostics
"Concussion Diagnosis in 10 seconds"
David has a vast amount of experience across a number of senior roles ranging from technology, supply chain to manufacturing and retail. Previously CFO of Simulity where he successfully completed funding rounds and finally an exit in 2017. As well as senior financial management positions in Microsoft and Accenture, David has worked for Flextronics, Philips Electronics and Le Creuset. David is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA).

Colm McGarvey, Selio Medical
"Reforming lung cancer diagnosis"
Colm is an ambitious, dynamic and visionary professional with over 22 years commercial experience, national and international, within the medical device, pharmacy and retail sectors. He holds an honours degree in Pharmacy from Queens University Belfast and a MSc in Bio-Inovation from University College Cork. As Corporate Development Director of Unicare Pharmacy, Colm built up the largest retail pharmacy chain and network of primary care centres in Ireland through M&A and new business start-ups. He has managed the investment of over €100m in healthcare assets in Ireland.
