Schedule

Thursday, 1 February 2018

6:30pm – 8:30pm UTC
Interviewing

An introduction to recording conversational or formal interviews for episodic media, covering personal style, crafting effective questions, and creating a comfortable atmosphere.

Thursday, 8 February 2018

6:30pm – 8:30pm UTC
Editing

A primer on editing and exporting podcast-quality audio using the free Audacity software. We provide example audio recorded in the Stream PDX trailer, and through the course of the class you'll take that audio from its unfinished state all the way to something that sounds like the shows you love to listen to. You'll leave the class with the files you've edited, a working knowledge of Audacity, and a handy cheat sheet of everything you learned in the class for when you sit down to edit your own show.

Thursday, 15 February 2018

6:00pm – 9:00pm UTC
Publishing

Once you've finished editing the first episode of your podcast, what's next? This class teaches you how to go from a finished audio file to a published podcast that people can find and subscribe to in their favorite podcast apps. You'll learn how to prepare the podcast feed for publishing, how to add episodes to the feed, how to create your podcast artwork, and what it takes to prepare the media files for publishing.
