Join our online course to master the art of storytelling with data—taught by the team who wrote the book on it! This immersive 8-week learning experience will build your skills and confidence to make great graphs and slides, weave them into compelling narratives, and communicate in any situation with prowess. 

Data storytellers Amy and Simon have curated a multimedia learning journey anchored in core SWD lessons that will be expanded upon and explored through weekly lectures, reading, videos, podcasts, exercises, and a comprehensive course project. Students will learn a repeatable process to plan in helpful ways (articulating a clear message and distilling critical components to support it), create effective materials (graphs, slides, and presentations), gracefully give feedback and integrate input from others, and communicate in a way that gets your audience’s attention, builds your credibility, and drives action.

Participants will receive two books written by best-selling author Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic: storytelling with data: let’s practice! and storytelling with you: plan, create, and deliver a stellar presentation; as well as 6 months of premium access to the online SWD community beginning at the onset of the course.

The course runs from Monday, June 3, 2024 to Sunday, July 28, 2024. Live lectures take place Mondays from 11AM–12PM ET (recordings will be shared). Weekly office hours on Thursdays and Fridays are held by data storytellers based in the US and UK, with weekly times varying to make options that work for students around the world.
