Lost Pubs of Birmingham - Ben Waddington

A Guided Tour Presented by Still Walking and Hidden Spaces

12pm on Sat 22 July, starting from 134 Edmund Street, Birmingham B3 2ES

Birmingham is experiencing a cultural revolution as far as cool new places to drink goes, with new café bars, craft ale outlets and micropubs popping up all over the city. But the classic British boozers of old are becoming a relatively rarity, with more closing per week than ever before.

For Beer Week, Ben Waddington has created a pub crawl of Birmingham pubs of yesteryear, where ‘last orders’ was called at some point in the last 100 years. Some are still standing vacant, awaiting new life, others are nearly invisible, disappearing back into the fabric of the city.

The walk lasts 90 minutes and ends at Cherry Red’s for a free third-pint measure of your choice of ale.
