Baskerville's Birmingham // Ben Waddington
John Baskerville is Birmingham’s lost hero: through the 18th century, he was successful in the business of design and industry and his influence is still felt today. Yet his presence is barely felt in his adopted home city, his story untold. However, the clues are there if you know where to look. This two-hour guided tour takes in locations, art and artefacts associated with the city’s most eminent printer, type founder, paper maker, japanner, grave stone carver and free-thinker.
