Future Mobility: What's Stopping Us?

Autonomous cars and zero-emissions transport has been promised to us for years now, but they remain elusive despite a wide variety of technological advances. So what is stopping us? In this Special Interest Group event, supported by MPA, we will explore the barriers to adoption being faced as well as the innovations to overcome them.

Speakers joining us on the day include:

David Jarvis and Andrew Jones from the Centre for Business in Society at Coventry University, will highlight issues with the take up of battery electric vehicles. They will share their work looking at the barriers amongst drivers in the UK from the perspective of mass market ICE drivers in a European context, and also offer insights into broader explanatory factors.

Emma Parfitt from Leaseplan will share her wealth of knowledge around the barriers to adoption of electric vehicles, highlighting the work she has been leading to promote customer uptake of electric fleet cars.

Barak Sas from Zeelo to share an interesting case study of their smart bus services offering a solution to commuting. We will hear insights into how the future of commuting looks and how Zeelo are working to overcome challenges in creating innovative sustainable commuting solutions.

Ben Boutcher-West from Appyway - to share his extensive knowledge on the complexities of kerbside management of EVs in cities and their innovative approach to overcoming these challenges.

Roundtable discussion with Roger Atkins from EV Outlook, Cristiana Pace from Enovation, Simon Holloway from RML, Sunny Chauhan from Gateway Digital, and Chris Kirby from Tomorrow's Journey. Together they will explore, in depth, how we best overcome the barriers to adoption.
