Opportunities in Defence and Security

Join us for an unparalleled opportunity to learn about the latest opportunities in the defence and security sectors. At this event, jointly organised with Be the Business, you will learn how to effectively engage with the Defence and Security sectors, receive practical advice on how to identify opportunities and ways to build useful networks and capabilities. You will hear about the latest capabilities that organisations are looking for at the moment.

Among the presentations we will hear from Andrew Cowdery, Co-chair of the Defence Growth Partnership about the changing procurement landscape, as well as an insight into the industrial strategy for the UK defence sector.

We will further be joined by Susan Addison, Procurement Director-Air for BAE Systems, who will share valuable insight on BAE’s strategy to work with SME’s as well as the requirements for future capabilities and partnerships. Andrew Kinniburgh, Director General for Make UK’s Defence division will outline the practical support available to build skills and capability as well as share insights on the current Common bid management gaps.

We are pleased to welcome Simon Holloway, Commercial Director at RML Group, to share their experience of working with a larger tier 1 organisation in Defence. A great opportunity to learn best practice from a successful fellow STC member and SME, we will hear how RML secured this business and what it was like for them to work in that arena.

We will also be joined by a National Security expert, who will explain about their new outlook for technology sourcing, the procurement process as well as highlighting the latest capabilities they are looking for.

The event will feature plenty of opportunities to ask questions and engage with the speakers, so don’t miss this unrivalled opportunity to get a real insight into the opportunities available for you in the defence and security sectors.
