State of Play: Batteries

Join us to take an in depth look at the state of play of batteries. We will be exploring the complexities of sourcing, production, prototyping, manufacturing and recycling batteries.

This Event brings you expert speakers sharing a variety of perspectives on battery technology and development.

We are delighted to welcome Emma Kendrick from Birmingham University whose presentation, Advancing Electrode Manufacturing, will detail how her work has enabled greater consistency, cost savings and reduced waste throughout the manufacturing process utilising digital manufacturing processes and real-time metrology.

We are also looking forward to hearing from Simon Holloway from RML to provide an overview of the highly innovative work going on in battery development throughout the cluster. He will be detailing ongoing work from the likes of RML, Delta, Danecca and others, to bring you up-to-date with the latest technology and techniques.

The UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) was set up to help UK companies design and develop their battery production processes and facilities. We are joined by Andrew Britton from UKBIC who will tell us all about this new facility and the various resources available to companies looking to get into, or expand their battery production operations.

To provide some valuable insights into battery recycling, we will be welcoming Sam Haig, Battery Recycling Business Manager from RSBruce. Sam will look at current and future technologies for batteries recycling and where the UK is and needs to be compared to the rest of the world.

Last but not least, we will be joined by Fergal Harrington Beatty from AMTE Power who will share with us their work on the next generation of high performance cells and their impact on various sectors.

This will be an interactive event with networking sessions between presentations, providing opportunities for discussion and to forge connections across the cluster.

This Event will be held via Airmeet - Login details will be provided the day before to all registered participants.
