The format is similar to an un-conference. We start with a free food and drink reception from our generous sponsor Optimizely. After formal introductions, Pythonistas join up with like minds to:

• hack on your own projects

Tutorials offered

More than one obvious way to do it: Solving the same problem in multiple programming paradigms.

Abstract: Flexibility is one of Python's many advantages. Python supports multiple programming paradigms, including procedural, object-oriented, and functional programming. In this hands-on tutorial, we are going to explore how to solve the same problem in different programming paradigms. We'll work through a series of coding challenges designed to teach the pros and cons of each of these programming paradigms.

Intended Audience: Intermediate Pythonista - someone who is familiar with defining variables and functions.

Prerequisites: A laptop. No software dependencies are required.

Instructor Bio: Brian Spiering is a Data Science Professor at the University of San Francisco. He teaches courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Prior to teaching, he worked at a series of technology companies founding and growing data science teams.

Pydata SIG

The PyData SIG brings together people interested in statistics, machine learning, and deep learning to share ideas and learn from each other. The focus will be Python's scientific stack - NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, and related packages.

Beginner SIG

Just getting started learning Python or programming in general? Come to the beginner SIG and work to up your Python skills.

Math used in ML SIG

There's so much math involved in machine learning. Bring your questions to Sean Farley at this SIG and let's figure it out.
