Storytelling is not about big speeches on a stage. It’s a practical skill that you can use every day. It’s about how you talk to your team, your boss, and your stakeholders. This class will teach you how to use storytelling skills to turn your ideas into persuasive stories that motivate action.
Every interaction you have at work is a storytelling opportunity, whether that’s a team update meeting, a pitch to the CEO, or an elevator ride with your boss. This class prepares you to seize those moments and make the most of them.

What will happen in class?
This workshop is limited to 20 participants for direct learning from Chantal Botana and Maurice McGinley through real-time interaction, open discussions, and Q&A. Using a mix of lecture, discussion, in-class exercises, and individual feedback, this class will cover the following material:
✓ Why storytelling becomes more valuable — not less — in an AI-driven, information-heavy world
✓ Narrative structures that connect strategy, data, and execution into a clear story
✓ How strong storytelling accelerates alignment and improves decision-making
✓ Practical frameworks you can immediately use to structure persuasive conversations
✓ Techniques for turning complex work into clear, outcome-focused narratives
Every participant will work on a 3-minute persuasive story. They will have the opportunity to share their stories live for feedback, and every participant will have the the opportunity to iterate their work at least once.
Participants can also take advantage of our AI Storytelling Coach to help you continue to get feedback and improve your skills after class sessions are over.

Maurice started as a technical writer for real time trading systems, but found was easier to redesign the product than explain it — which led to a career in product innovation and a PhD in HCI, and building a public emergency alert system.
Over the past 20+ years, he has worked with companies including Philips, Reuters, Merrill Lynch, and Avast, across sectors from consumer electronics to cybersecurity to climate tech. These days, he gets joy from helping product teams succeed, with a particular focus on effective experimentation.
