IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION:
The class takes place over 2 live online class meetings that will meet on:
- June 30 and July 1, 2025
- Starting at 8:00am until 4:00pm CDT
“It’s a dud,” notes your sales lead,
“Actually, it’s worse. Our customers are actively leaving us by terminating their accounts, and are complaining on every social platform imaginable that our latest release is nothing but a money grab. I mean, we did think it’d pull in a bunch of revenue, but now I’m worried we’ll even have jobs tomorrow.”
Your team listened to internal stakeholders, built what was asked for, and the product still flopped. What went wrong?
“Uncertainty” isn’t just the word for 2025; it’s a state of existence for any product manager.
We have uncertainty about our customers and whether they’ll buy and use our products, our business partners and what strings they’ll pull to push their initiatives forward, and our marketplace of competition and ever-changing services and costs.
With so much uncertainty, how could any product team know precisely what it is they need to build to be successful?
In this engaging and pragmatic course created by renowned authors Jeff Gothelf and Josh Seiden, you will break away from simply delivering features and become a navigator of uncertainty. You’ll discover better ways to manage the risks around product development, moving your focus from outputs created to outcomes achieved.
Through a mixture of talks, discussion, and real-time exercises, you will learn how to craft and evolve strategies to discover what your customers want and need, find what solutions fulfill those needs, and iterate through a tight feedback loop to control investment risk and create value.
In this class you will:
- Define a product strategy in a short amount of time
- Identify OKRs that mean success for your product strategy
- Declare all the basic assumptions around your initiative
- Write and test solution hypotheses
- Get ideas to market quickly
- Build a learning loop with your customers
- Integrate continuous learning and iteration into your product roadmaps
- Increase the agility of the team and the organization

Through a series of hands-on activities, discussions and group work teams take a product from strategy to solution while keeping the customer at the center throughout.
During class we'll review key topics and then practice them using lightweight, low investment tools to help us declare our assumptions about our product work.
We will work in teams simulating real-world collaboration as we try to solve for the needs of the customer as well as the business. Each team will have breakout times to work through an exercise followed by group sharing back.
This is not a lecture-heavy class. Instead we opt for discussion, debate and group activity.
