RailsGirls is hosting a free workshop for women learning to code.

RailsGirls aims to open up technology and make it more approachable for girls and women. Our aim is to give tools and a community for women to understand technology, and to build their ideas. RailsGirls was born in Finland, and has today grown into a global, non-profit volunteer community.

This workshop will consist of two parallel sessions: RailsGirls and RailsGirls Next.

RailsGirls

Learn prototyping, basic coding, and get introduced to the world of technology and the magic of Ruby on Rails. You'll learn alongside other people new to coding, with abundant and willing help from our mentors. You don't need any previous coding experience. You do need your own laptop, curiosity and a sprinkle of imagination!

RailsGirls Next

Dive deeper into coding, covering topics like test driven development, object oriented programming and agile. Our wonderful mentors will take you through Exercism's Robot Simulator as a practical demonstration of these key concepts. To join this workshop, you're required to have either participated in the original RailsGirls workshop, or have some prior coding experience. You'll also need to sign up for an Exercism account beforehand.
