Spiritual Orbit

A one-day immersive workshop with Ustadh Hisham Abu Yusuf exploring passages from Surah al-Hajj.

By the end of the workshop you will:

  • Engage directly with the Qur'an - no barriers, no intermediary, just you and the text
  • Understand how to make the most of the blessed days of Dhul Hijjah
  • Recognise the divine design behind seemingly disconnected rituals
  • Taste the sweetness of one of Qur'an's most powerful passages

"Call ˹all˺ people to the pilgrimage. They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel from every distant path"

(Qur’an 22:27)

With this one call by Ibrahim (AS), believers from humanity responded in submission to Allah. This single historic call still resonates today, with millions flocking to Hajj every year. This call will continue to be responded to by millions until the Last Day.

Additional Information

Spiritual Orbit

Most Muslims know about Hajj - but very few have ever actually sat with what Allah said in Surah Al-Hajj.

The Quran has been left as an abandoned relic of the ancient past: recited, memorised, but rarely truly engaged with.

Surah Al-Hajj is a rich exposition of the Day of Judgement and its profound link to the rites of Hajj - because Hajj is, at its heart, a rehearsal for that Day.

Every orbit, every gathering, every act of surrender is loaded with meaning and symbolism.

That’s why this event is called Spiritual Orbit.

Even if we’re not going to Hajj this year, sitting with these verses gives us a window into why these days carry such weight in our calendar - and a reminder that we are all, ultimately, heading somewhere.

During this workshop, you'll learn:

  • The overall structure of the surah and how each section connects to the next.
  • The deep links between Hajj and the Day of Judgement
  • Key lessons from the Hajj pilgrimage - why it's relevant for all of us, even if we're not performing it ourselves.

This is not a line-by-line explanation. It's a guided journey that reveals how the surah shapes a believer’s thinking, habits, and approach to life.
