Ringwood Repair Café on Saturday 10th May

Tickets are for the broken thing you want help fixing, multiple guests are allowed to come along with each broken thing. We ask you to pre-register your repair so that we can ensure that we can advise repairers of the nature of items coming to a particular repair café.

The ethos of a repair café is that you work with a volunteer repairer to understand the fault and then try to fix it together. We are not a drop-off service!

Whilst we can't guarantee to repair the item, we can at least try to diagnose the problem.

How to register

-- Please click the blue CONTINUE button below.

-- AFTER entering your name and email address and acknowledging the data statement, click on CONTINUE again.

-- You'll then be asked to ASSIGN YOUR TICKET ... please do this, we need advance repair information to complete your booking!

Providing information in advance such as a description of item requiring repair, including why it needs repairing, will enable us to make sure we have someone who can help you on the day.

About the repair café

For more information about coming to a repair café event, including our terms of engagement ('the rules'), please visit our webpage: https://greening-ringwood.org.uk/ringwood-repair-cafe

We are non-profit and run entirely by volunteers. Whilst the event is free to you, it costs us around £75 to host each event (venue hire, catering, consumables). So please consider leaving a donation at the conclusion of your visit so that we can continue our work for the local community. There will be a donation box for coins and notes, and you can also make a contactless payment too.

Additional Information

How does the repair café work?

1. Booking your item is essential. Register one item and give us as much information as possible - what the item is and what's wrong with it. Just one item per person\, no large electricals such as microwaves or washing machines. Bring all power adaptors and any sundries that may be needed to conduct the repair e.g. switches.

3. Stay with your item and your fixer volunteer will show you how to fix your item! There is no guarantee your item will be fixed\, and if it will take a long time\, we will show you how to finish it at home or arrange for you to come back to a future café event.

4. Your repair is free. Donations are welcome to help cover our costs\, (it costs £75 to run each event\, eg venue hire\, catering\, consumables for repairers). A donation box or contactless terminal is available at the check-out desk. Please do not feel obliged to make a donation.

5. There will be tea and coffee and cakes available.

Who are we?

We are a group of volunteers who care about repairing things and avoiding waste. Our fixers are skilled in their disciplines and are giving up their time for free to help fellow local residents - for many, this isn't their day job but simply a way to connect with new friends, whilst others are professionals looking to 'give back' in the community.

Where should I park?

There is parking close by in the library car park, and beyond that in NFDC's Blynkbonnie pay and display car park.

What's the accessibility like?

Repairs will be available at accessible stations in Greyfriars Community Centre. Please let us know in your ticket booking if you have additional needs. Greyfriars has an accessible toilet that is also gender-neutral and baby change toilet.

Can I help?

We are always looking for volunteers- to help fix and also run the events. Please email ringwoodrepaircafeuk@gmail.com and tell us what you'd be interested in helping with.

How often do you hold events?

On the second Saturday of each month, except August when we all have a well-earned holiday!
