Setting up a Repair Cafe for Lisburn
This free workshop is for anyone who wants to be part of setting up a community-run Repair Cafe for Lisburn. In this initial session, we will introduce what a repair cafe is, how they work and the different roles and volunteering opportunities. Together, we'll start to map out how to establish a community repair group to run regular events in Lisburn and agree next steps. Follow up workshops will be held for those who want to get more involved.
The session is perfect for anyone who would like to meet others interested in forming a repair cafe, who want to find out more about what's involved and who's excited to help make it happen!
Repair Cafe NI supports and connects 15 volunteer-powered, community-rooted repair groups across Northern Ireland. Through their development programme, they have a wealth of experience of helping groups form, understand the different elements of building a successful and sustainable repair cafe and navigating practical issues such as finding volunteers, health and safety, what to bring and getting the word out. Marcella and Chris will guide the newly-forming Lisburn group through the process, and be there to support every step of the way.
