The Joy of Cooking Meals from the Pantry
It's 5:30 in the evening. Maybe 6. You're hungry, now. Harder still, your children are really hungry. What can you make out of the pantry, in less than 30 minutes, to feed your family?
We're going to have fun with this. We will talk about the best foods to keep in the pantry to make meals easy. And then we'll make 3 dishes together:
cacio e pepe (creamy pasta with pecorino and pepper)
red lentil sloppy joes
quick stir-fried rice with the last of the vegetables in the refrigerator and leftover roasted chicken
And then you will work in teams to grab ingredients from the Relish pantry and refrigerator to come up with a group dish, based on your food preferences and taste. (Think of it as a little Top Chef challenge.)
Afterwards, you might look at your pantry as an interesting challenge and your fastest path to a good dinner.
