Joint RECS & Energy Traders Europe Biomethane Contracts Workshop

RECS and Energy Trader Europe members are invited to join an in-depth, practical workshop on our respective trade agreements for biomethane - covering guarantees of origin, proofs of sustainability, and the physical gas itself on 1 June 2026 from 14:00-17:00.

The workshop's speakers will address key questions, including:

  • How each agreement functions, and why
  • How the agreements support the effective and efficient trade and transfer of GOs/POS
  • How we may update the agreements in response to the implementation of the UDB
  • How the agreements interact with prevailing biomethane certificate systems, such as the AIB gas issuers scheme
  • How GO/POS can be recognised for regulatory compliance with national schemes such as the German THG.

Workshop attendees will be able to participate in a constructive discussion on biomethane market risks and opportunities, and how standard contracts can help to address them. Attendees will also gain an understanding of which agreement may be the most suitable for their needs.

The workshop speakers are:

  • Dagmara Dragan of Energy Traders Europe
  • Adam White of RECS Energy Certificate Association
  • Andreas Gunst and Kenneth Wallace-Mueller of DLA Piper
  • Filip Strohwasser of CEZ on the practical use of the respective contracts.

Workshop attendees, especially those joining in person in Prague, will have the chance to ask all their questions about the standard agreements and join the presenters in considering the potential need for future updates.

The workshop is open to RECS and Energy Trader Europe members only.
