Introduction to Strength and Conditioning

Peter Gascoigne, a coach for the Great Britain Cycling Team, has prepared a talk on how strength and conditioning can help lesser mortals in their everyday cycling lives too.

The evening will look at the Why, How and What behind Strength and Conditioning (S&C) for cyclists and how it can help the competitive or non-competitive club rider with any challenge or goal they have next season. S&C in endurance cycling has enjoyed a mini-boom in the scientific research area recently and therefore a lot of misconceptions widely accepted as truth have now been disproved.

Peter is passionate about cycling and working with the GB team is something he is happy to share more about, including some insight into what track endurance and some road riders are doing in current training – mainly performance and injury prevention.
