The Rapha Women’s 100 is a display of collective spirit amongst women cyclists around the world. Since its inception, in 2013, the Women’s 100 has inspired women around the world, to come together to ride 100km all on the same day. Read on to RSVP for a ride.
Led by Eachann Gillies, this will be a gentle paced jaunt round some of Ayrshire's finest little lanes. Mostly quiet roads so you’ll see more cows than cars. There aren’t any humungous climbs but there a few spicy ramps here and there – but this is a social ride so we will keep everyone together. If you fancy a wee dig on a climb, just wait for us at the top. We’ll meet at Malletsheugh arch at 8.45, and leave at 9am, heading through Eaglesham, over the Ardochrig, down to Watermill and over the Cattery climb. After this we loop round west, heading towards Sorn, where we’ll stop by the river for some cake and coffee. After this we’ll head north to Galston, then up to Fenwick and back to the Malletsheugh via the A77 cycle path. Remember to bring a spare inner tube, a patch kit and a pump. The calendar might tell you we’re in summer, but that doesn’t mean much round here, so dress appropriately, bring a jacket with you and some food for the ride. You can find the route here.
