Hosted by Emily Chappell and Canyon, this beautiful ride showcases the very best of Mid Wales’ scenery. We’ll set off on quiet back roads from Llanidloes and cross the watershed from the Severn Valley to the picturesque River Wye, which we’ll follow all the way to our coffee stop in Rhayader. From here we’ll tackle our biggest climb of the day – around 4km of steep steep tarmac, taking us up onto the northern end of the Elenydd Plateau. On a clear day, we’ll be treated to 360-degree views of windswept hilltops, before we begin our descent through the Elan Valley, with its ornate Victorian dams and reservoirs. From here we’ll follow the lanes through Llanwrthyl and Nant-Glas, then another steep climb takes us up to our lunch stop at Bwlch-y-Sarnau. The remainder of the ride includes a few ups and downs, a long fast descent back into the Severn Valley, and an enjoyable side route back into Llanidloes.
