London Winter Ride Programme

We have an exciting new ride programme for London this winter introducing a monthly women’s only ride and an off-road special so you can keep reaching your goals and keep the legs turning through the winter elements.

First Saturday of the month – Soho Clubhouse – Kent Ride

Second Sunday of the month – Spitalfields Clubhouse – Women's Ride

Third Sunday of the month – Spitalfields Clubhouse – Essex Ride

Last Saturday of the month – Huck's Cafe Walthamstow – Gravel/Mud Ride

We expect you to be on a suitable bike and clipped in, to carry a pump and all the tools for common repairs, appropriate tyres and clothing for the weather. Make sure you bring enough food and water to fuel you for the ride. For winter we ask all riders to fit their bikes with mudguards and lights.

The group will ride at the advertised speed, and if anyone isn't comfortable with the pace there will be a number of get-out points to safely get home.

We recommend the Tuesday Chat Laps for anyone who wants to improve their pace and skills before attending a weekend ride.

Our other London rides can be found here.

Winter weather: Extreme weather conditions can make a difference to your riding, affecting your ability to see, handle your bike and ride in a group safely. For this reason, if a ride leader deems conditions to be hazardous, the ride may be canceled, or amended at late notice. This will be communicated on the APP to RCC members and via email to riders who have signed up. While we will endeavour to give advance warning, this can not always be guaranteed. Extreme weather conditions could be amber warnings, torrential rain, or temperatures below 5 degrees in London (i.e. 1 degree in the route destination).

  • The monthly adventure ride is a no drop 80km off-road ride which takes us on a brand new route, starting at Hucks cafe in Walthamstow at 8:30am. Following the favourite routes of our ride leaders Dan Foster and Saskia Martin, each monthly ride will be unique and slightly more challenging as the weeks go by. You will ride for 5-7 hours and routes will alternate according to the weather. These rides represent the perfect ride if you're training towards an early season challenge or keen to mix it up and explore some off-road terrain this winter. The average pace will be 25 km, with riders regrouping at the top of climbs or technical sections. These rides are for experienced, self-sufficient riders comfortable with off-road riding and looking for new roads to discover.
