Rapha Rideleader Ride: Baarle's Border Ride

This ride takes you to the prettiest roads in the Brabant/Flanders border region of Baarle-Nassau, with over 16 border crossings! The 125 km ride, designed by Bram de Vrind (De Fietsjournalist), contains of a wide variety of quiet country roads, forests full of autumn colors and heather on the edge of The Netherlands and Belgium.

We will depart from Bolwerk in the heart of Den Bosch. We will ride in two or three groups (27 km/h average - 31 km/h - 35 km/h) which makes the ride accessible for multiple levels. Competitive riders can show their strength at 2 timed segments. The winners (either male of female) will be rewarded with a price, as well as a rider that stood out in a special way.

After riding over quiet country roads in De Meierij and witnessing the autumn colors at the beautiful Landgoed De Utrecht, we cross the Belgian Kempen region towards the border village of Baarle-Nassau/Hertog. We will stop for a coffee break in this unique spot, with it's 30 enclaves of either Dutch or Belgian territory.

After the coffee break it's time for the fanatics (male/female) to stand out. We head back into Belgium to set course for the Dutch Landgoed Nieuwkerk, where you can put in your best time at the lush 'klinker' road across the woods. 20 kms further, the second segment awaits at the Hoolstraat cobble sector! Note: if you don't like riding the cobbles, you can easily avoid them. After returning at Bolwerk we will end the day with a price ceremony and drinks.
