* RCC Hasselt Hills

This is one of our special RCC rides of the year! Organised together with our local Ride Leaders in Hasselt the Hageland will show you one of the best days on the bike this year. Together we will take on the local hills, ride beautiful routes, take on some of the most classic climbs in the area, but also some hidden and unknown paths. This RCC Ride is a treat for the climbers!

We kick things off in the Tuscany of Belgium (South Limburg). Following the rolling hills we go to the Voerstreek. There we ride over the Plank towards the well known Camerig (the longest climb in the Netherlands) and so on to the famous Drielandenpunt in Vaals. It’s back to the French part of Belgium towards the 13th century abbey of Val Dieu. According to the legend, the uninhabited valley in which the monks settled was so hostile that the local population called it “the valley of the devil”. The monks renamed it “Valley of God”, or “Val-Dieu” in French. Is there a better location to stop for a refill? After this pause at 98km into the route it’s back on track through the glowing countryside where we pass the oldest city of Belgium, Tongeren. The last 30 kilometers take us on hilly roads back to Hasselt where we end our ride after 160km and 2000+ altitude meters. Time for a well deserved beer.

There will be different groups based on your level of riding.
