RCC Amsterdam - Brussels Le Grand Départ
The French grand tour is the biggest bike race in the world. The race where history was made, epic battles were fought, hero’s emerged and dreams were crushed. This year the battle for the yellow jersey starts at our neighbours in Brussels. Le Grand Départ starts in Brussels in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of Eddy Merckx’s first Tour victory in 1969 and it will be the 11th time Brussels welcomes the French race. A spectacle not to be missed, so get ready for a beautiful transfer ride from our Clubhouse to the crazy circus of La Grande Boucle.
Before the biggest race of the year shoots off we will first enjoy the traditional Dutch landscapes and go south towards Tilburg, where we will spend our first night. During our second stage we celebrate the 1996 Grand Départ in 's Hertogenbosch. With the prologue and the first two stages all starting in 's Hertogenbosch our second day will be partly inspired by the routes of these stages. After we crossed the border we are going to hit the Belgium rolling hills and honor Eddy Merckx by passing his birth house in Tielt-Winge. From this our focus will be towards the European capital and finish at the Rapha Pop-Up, where a Belgium beer await us. On the third day we will take on our yellow flags, put on our EF bucket heads and cheer on the pro’s during their first stage around Brussels.
Both days will be around 140km. This trip is a true celebration of cycling filled with amazing riding, food and drinks and deepen the friendships forged during our days in the saddle.
We offer this trip against a ballpark price of EUR250.00.
