Rapha Ride Leader Ride: Beachbiking

Have you got a MTB? Then you’re equipped to go to the Beach and ride on it! This ride is organised and led by Rapha Ride Leader Eric Buddelmeijer.

Dutch people have found out the best way to enjoy the not-too-good weather of winter is to go to the beach and do some “uitwaaien”: Let the wind blow around your head and let it take away any gloomy thoughts. (see http://nautil.us/blog/the-simple-dutch-cure-for-stress) The beach is never dull, conditions of both the weather and the sand are always different, and the seagulls are sure to keep you entertained. If you are not too busy pushing yourself through the headwind. Beach biking is an excellent way to do some of the more intensive strength training. Even with a tailwind, the sand will make sure you will have to push yourself. And after that windy training it is always good to feel that rosy sensation in your cheeks when drinking a hot coffee, tea, chocolate or other, more spirited, beverage. We will be riding from just North of the Noordzeekanaal from Wijk aan Zee to Egmond aan Zee and back, making sure we go up and down some of the beach entrances with a smaller, more technical, challenge included.
