XpressoFix Gears Master Class

Want to know how to keep your gears changing like they were new? Do you get annoyed by a noisy chain or your chain coming off? Confused about all those screws and cable tensioners? Then the solution is here. Rob Angell, bike mechanic, from Xpressofix will be here to run a two and a half hour masterclass in all things gears. Rob setup Xpressofix 5 years ago and is a mobile mechanic based out of Castle Cary.

Learn how to replace gear cables, gear housing and set your gears up so they work as well as possible. SRAM, Shimano and Campagnolo all covered, including electric versions. Rob will have a stock of cables, housing, cable ends, ferrules and chains in case you want or need to replace anything (you’ll be able to purchase these on the evening).

By the end of the session you should feel confident in how to adjust your gears and keep them running smoothly. And if you want, this will include learning how to replace the cables and the chain. You’ll have time to do this to your bike on the evening, guided and assisted by Rob.

Please let us know which make of gears you have on your bike when you book. If you have a bike work stand please bring that as well as your bike with you. Rob will have a few tools that you can use to get the jobs done but you are welcome to bring your own. We recommend wearing old clothes for the evening.

The cost for this class will be £15, payable in cash or card on the day. We have free parking on-site.

Please note, a minimum number of eight students will be required to run the course.
