Rapha Explore Ride - Ronde de Mendips 2020

After nearly 5 years the Rapha Archive Store will soon be closing its doors. We've met so many lovely people from all over the world & hopefully gone some small way to helping them achieve their cycling goals to date however big or small.

Help celebrate by joining us & komoot on our last Rapha Explore Ride. Just get a team of 2, 3 or 4 friends, ride your bikes, visit checkpoints & complete various challenges in & around The Mendips. You'll get the chance to take on some of the area's most iconic climbs including Burringtonburg, Cheddarmuur & of course the Oude Draycott.

Teams will receive the checkpoints locations & challenges 48hrs before the event. Each checkpoint will be worth a set number of points, all you have to do is plan a route around as many of the checkpoints as possible. Travel on or off road, in any direction & order you like grabbing as many points as you can, but make sure the whole team gets back to the Archive Store before the 5hr cut-off time.

To spice things up, bonus checkpoints will be revealed once the event is underway, with hidden prizes for the first teams to locate & find them.

Once back at the Archive Store you'll be able to watch the climax of the Tour of Flanders live on our big screen with a Belgian beer & snacks, or get something more substantial from the on-site restaurant. There will also be team & individual prizes up for grabs such as:

🎁Most points accumulated within the time limit 🎁Greatest distance covered 🎁Highest elevation gain 🎁Most creative team name 🎁Most social media post likes...

All team members will need to prove that they have visited a particular checkpoint by stamping their Ronde de Mendips Explore Card in the relevant box.

This is an unsupported and un-marshalled "Prestige" style challenge rather than a race, so you will need to be self-sufficient during the ride. As the name suggests exploration is encouraged, so please avoid the main A roads where possible.

Arrive at the Archive Store from 8.30am, with teams setting off at 1 minute intervals from 9.00am.

The Archive Store has free parking, indoor bike storage & changing facilities available both before & after the event.

We require TEAM CAPTAINS ONLY to register for the appropriate 2, 3 or 4 rider team ticket via the link &, when prompted to enter your "Company name?", please enter your "Team name" instead.

Any team that manages to get to all the checkpoints will have ridden around 95 kms (60 miles) with 1,400m (4,500') of climbing.
