Audax, Ultra Distance Cycling & the Bikepacking Phenomenon

Audax, Brevet, Randonée, ultra distance events, bikepacking etc have never been so popular, as people look to find new & more adventurous ways to ride & challenge themselves in an increasingly sedentary world. With the help of Paul Rainbow from Audax Club Bristol, we’re going to take a look at the origins of some of these disciplines, get an insight into what it’s like to take part in an event & look at where the future may take us.

You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, meet Audax Club Bristol members, find out a bit more about the club & talk about your next challenge.

Paul was a club rider in the 80s, MTBer & Downhiller in the 90s & completed his first Audax in 1996. Since then he has finished numerous events incl. 2 x Paris-Brest-Paris 1,200km, 2 x London-Edinburgh-London 1,400km, Rome - Caen 2,020km, 8 x Super Randonneur Series (600, 400, 300 & 200 per season) & holds Brevet 2500 & 5000 awards.

The event will take place Thu 12th July 7.30-9.30pm & will be hosted by 67baristabarber, 67 Hill Rd, Clevedon BS21 7PD
