UKRI OA Policy - PIDs workshop #1
We are aware that many of you are, like us, working to understand the impact of the UKRI Open Access policy on your processes, workflows and repository requirements https://www.ukri.org/publications/ukri-open-access-policy/ . With a particular focus on the persistent identifier (PID) requirements, The British Library and Jisc are collaborating to run a short series of workshops for the UK ORCID and DataCite consortia, aiming to:
- Understand the UKRI OA Policy aspects related to persistent identifier requirements (especially ORCIDS & DOIs) of repositories, and expectations for monitoring and compliance
- Explore what changes may be required as a result of the policy
- Discuss how best to move towards meeting the requirements and the roadmap from here to April next year.
In this first workshop, we will:
- Explore the intent and interpretation of the PID requirements in the policy from a range of different angles
- Discuss how “compliance” with the policy could work, given this context
- Begin to identify potential implications that may impact practice in participants’ organisations
