Roadmapping and Policy Recommendations for Virtual Worlds and Web 4.0

OPENVERSE’s partner Inspiring Futures is organising this workshop, which continues to develop the roadmapping activities of the project.

Picking things up from our previous online workshop on the topic, this second webinar will have the objective of enhancing with diversely sourced insights OPENVERSE’s final targeted Roadmap, providing up-to-date material on the related work carried out so far, and taking stock of the evolution of the Virtual Worlds’ landscape, in a fast-changing context – finally leading to a strategically tuned Roadmap for the years to come.

The envisioned structure, in a nutshell:

• Summary of the work carried out so far, outlining the triple mission of enhancing the Roadmap.
• Presentations, on the state of affairs of the SRIA endeavour, and on how, as of July 2026, the Virtual Worlds’ landscape has evolved, with its emerging challenges.
• Interactive breakout sessions, facilitated by partner Inspiring Futures and fellow OPENVERSE consortium members, to explore a series of open questions resulting from the April-June preparatory phase of the workshop, and meant to examine and document several open issues which the Roadmap should integrate into its recommendations.
• A plenary session, wrapping up the input and suggestions which might be integrated.
